David Lee Weier

David Lee Weier, 81, of Glenwood, Iowa, passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 25th 2024, at ANew healthcare home in Holton, Kansas. He was born August 5, 1943, in Freeport Illinois, the son of Robert E. and Bertha (Krueger) Weier. He was married to Lavonne Weier (Sheeley) until her passing on December 18th of 2023. He was a 1961 graduate of Freeport Senior High School.

David had a long career with the Railroad as a dispatcher with Illinois Central Gulf, Southern Pacific and Union Pacific which took him to several locations including Northern Illinois, Tucson Arizona, Sacramento California and finally Omaha Nebraska where he retired in May of 2013 after more than 50 years of employment.

He is survived by his Son's David Weier II of Pavilion, Wyoming and Darin Weier of Topeka, Kansas. 4 grandchildren, Jacob Bumphrey, Justin Weier, Briauna Barkdoll, Kailani Weier, 4 great-grandchildren, and a sister Karla Ritchey

Preceding David in death are his parents Robert and Bertha, his wife Lavonne, three brothers and two sisters Durwood Weier, Hazen Woody Weier, Bob Weier, Linda Downing and Alice Weier.
