David Max Betz, 58, Topeka, KSpassed away, Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at Stormont Vail Hospital, after a long battle with cancer.

David was born, December 21, 1961, in Spokane, WA to Robert Richard Betz and Lorna (Chapman)Betz Hallam. David and his family lived all over the country, he called Topeka home since 1986.

David married the love of his life, Kennee, on April 1st, 1989 and they spent 31 years having an adventure.

David battled childhood cancer and because of his many surgeries and treatments, he was not able to graduate high school.  He enrolled in night classes at Topeka High School, and received his diploma and went on to earn an Associates Degree from what is now Washburn Tech.  He went to work as a technician in training for King's Laundry and eventually bought out the company and formed Betz Laundry Equipment Service, where for over 25 years he had clients all over NE Kansas, repairing the commercial laundry equipment for hospitals, nursing homes, hotels and motels.  Even after he had to retire due to health complication, people would call asking for advice, and true to form, he would walk them thru the problem and 'fix it over the phone'.

David had an avid love for the outdoors and adventure, from having his own airplane to a Ranger Bass boat that won him many tournaments on the amateur circuit, as well as taking up golf late in life and coming away with 2 holes in one! He also loved Disney World and was always waiting for the next trip back to the most magical place on earth, he counted 28 trips to the Magic Kingdom during his lifetime.  He loved life, whatever it was, he wanted to do it, singing and writing songs, playing guitar, bird watching, if it was worth doing, he did it.

David was preceded in death by his grandparents, mother, Lorna Hallam and is brother Lance Betz, aunts, uncles and cousins.
