Darryl Lewis Wilson

Darryl Lewis Wilson, born February 7, 1945 passed December 4, 2017 in Topeka, KS.

Darryl was born to Ernest and Clarice Wilson in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. the second of two sons. Darryl completed the 11th grade at Ft. Lauderdale High and then after completing his GED he joined the US Air Force. In the Air Force he did a tour in Vietnam and then his service found him stationed at Forbes Air Force base in Topeka, KS. While stationed in Topeka Darryl met and married VikiGardner in July of 1969. Together they had two children Christine (Wilson) Steward and Shawn Wilson. Darryl moved back to Florida after divorcing Viki in 1975.

Upon returning to Florida he began his career as a service advisor for several different car dealerships that lasted 37 years. In his spare time he loved to fish both fresh water and salt water where he pulled in some really big ones or at least that's how the story goes. His other hobby was bowling, he even bowled on a league with his grand daughter. If he couldn't get out and fish or there wasn't a game to be bowled you could find him either at the racetrack or watching a race on T.V.

After moving back toFlorida Darryl met Susan Veronneau, they were married on August 12,1978 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. They were married for 39 years. Darryl and Sue moved to Topeka in 2012 to be close to their children and 3 grandchildren.

Darryl is survived by his wife Susan (Veronneau) Wilson; daughter Christine (Wilson) Steward, Amber and Elizabeth; son Shawn Wilson, (Lynn), Ashley; brother Dean Wilson, (Ruth), Beth Ann, Dean, andTrudy.

Darryl was proceeded in death by his mother and father Clarice (Carroll) and Ernest Wilson.
