Daniel "Danny" Robert Brickei, 57, of Topeka, KS, passed away September 19, 2022, at the House at Midland Care.
He was born January 27, 1965, in Abilene, KS, the son of Daniel Raymond and Virginia Marie (Longoria) Brickei.
Danny was a 1984 graduate of Topeka High School. He was a mechanic and body repairman by trade working at Burnett Automotive, Montgomery Ward Automotive, Expert Tire and most recently at Heartland Auto Salvage.
In his spare time, he enjoyed drawing, talking about cars, assembling model cars and trucks, cooking, riding his bike on the Shunga Trail, fishing at Shawnee Lake, visiting historic places and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Danny was a fun and outgoing person. He loved sharing a good joke, dancing, singing along to music with his daughter, Kara, trying new things, wearing a hat, and rooting on the KC Chiefs. Danny had a way of twirling his thumbs around when he was in deep thought or he'd raise his fists to playfully ask you if you wanted to fight, and then simply roll his eyes to the side as to say, "whatever". Danny enjoyed a good plate of Goulash, Mexican Food, and some homemade Mexican Sweet Bread, along with watching westerns, cooking shows, and some vintage classics, such as Mighty Joe Young or any of the Cheech and Chong movies. He will be remembered mostly for ability to tell a good story, making his family laugh, his love for cooking, his sweet tooth, and his endless love for his family.
Danny is survived by a son, Kyle Robert Brickei and his wife, Chelsea, along with their five children, a daughter, Kara Elaine Marie Brickei Ross and her husband, Dillon, along with their child, his mother, Virginia Hall, stepfather, Michael Hall, two brothers, Michael Brickei and his wife Daisy, and Joseph Hall, three sisters, Charlene Ritter and her husband, Michael, Melissa Hall, and Janie Hall. A host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and extended family also survive. He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Raymond Brickei.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, October 2, 2022, from 3:00 until 6:00 PM at the Woman's Club of Topeka, 5221 SW West Drive, Topeka, KS 66606.
