Daniel Athon

DANIEL ATHON passed away on October 23, 2015. Cremation is planned and Memorial Services at Mother Teresa , 2114 NW 46th St., Topeka, Ks, on October 27th at 1:00 p.m.

He was born in Topeka, Kansas on June 3, 1939 to Cloyce and Rosemary McEnroe Athon. He moved to Marysville, Kansas when he was 10 years old and graduated from Marysville High School in 1957. He joined the Navy in 1957 until 1960. He went to work at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company right out of the Navy and retired after 38 years in July of 1998.

Dan loved to fish and hunt and spent his spare time doing just that… He was a member of the Kansas Walleye Association and fished many tournaments. He was also a big KU basketball fan.

Dan Married Rebecca Scheibe in November 1963. He is survived by 3 children: Craig, Shawn (Joey) and Lisa; Grandchildren: Matthew, Morgan, and Garrett; Stepchildren: McKenzi and Madison and one Step Great-Grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother and sister.
