Dale Reynolds

June 12, 1942 — March 2, 2018

Dale Reynolds of Vermillion, Kansas, passed away in Manhattan, Kansas, on February 26. He is survived by his son Jeff Reynolds (Melissa), grandchildren Ashley, Myranda, and Jesse all of Abilene, Kansas.

Dale is also survived by his girlfriend of nine years, Leddy Rothers. Leddy's children and grandchildren embraced Dale as part of their own family.

Dale was preceded in death by his father John Reynolds, mother Ruth Reynolds, brother Duane Reynolds, and sister Donna Blocker.

Dale was born on June 12, 1942 in Vermillion, Kansas.

Dale graduated from Vermillion High School with the class of 1961. He then graduated from Capital City Barber College in Topeka, Kansas in 1965. Dale worked as a barber in Topeka until he lost his barber shop in a tornado. Not long after, he moved to Clay Center to open a second barber shop. After losing that barber shop to another tornado, Dale decided to start working at ADM Milling in Abilene, Kansas. He lived in Abilene for many years and retired from ADM at the age of 62.

Dale Reynolds was so much more than his careers though. He was a great man that loved his family and was always loved by them. He was very involved in the raising of his grandchildren and will always be remembered as someone that would drop everything to help anyone. Dale was an avid K-State, Chiefs, and Royals fan. He never missed a game and always looked forward to cheering the teams on with his son. He also enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow in both academic and athletic achievements.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 10th from 11am-1pm, at the K-State Alumni building in Manhattan, KS (1720 Anderson Ave, 100 Alumni Center, Manhattan, KS 66502) to share memories and remember the impact that Dale had on our lives. The family requests that if you have any photos of Dale to please bring it with you to share with others and wear sports attire that supports his favorite teams. Dale's wishes were that everyone feel welcome and comfortable at his memorial service. We hope that you will join us.
