Dale E. Godsey

Dale E. Godsey passed away peacefully on February 3, 2019 at Winter Meadow Homes.  He was born October 27, 1931, 4 miles east of Quenemo, Kansas, the son of Owen D. Godsey and Dorothy Smith Godsey.

Dale enlisted in the U.S. Navy in May 1952 and then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in December 1956.  Dale retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1973. He was assigned to Peterson Air Force Base under Civil Engineering for six more years.  Dale had a total of 27 years in the military.

He was very active in the Golden Rule Lodge #90 in Topeka, Kansas and was the Master of Golden Rule 90 in 2004. He was also a member in the Topeka Valley Scottish Rite Bodies, National Sojourners Chapter 128, Heroes of '76, Sovereign of the Red Cross of Constantine, Topeka York Rite, Royal Arch Chapter 5, Zebud Council 4 Holy Royal Arch Knights Templar Priest in Kansas City, Kansas, Arab Shrine, Topeka, Kansas and was also a member of the Eastern Star in Mayetta.

He is survived by a brother Charles (Laura) Godsey, Ponca City, OK, son Leo (Brenda) Perry of Topeka, grandchildren, Brigitte (Dustin) Pieschl, of Meriden, KS, Brandon (Stephanie) Perry and Shawn (Megan) Perry both of Topeka, and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Dale Glenn Godsey, brother Jerry Godsey, wife Veda Alldredge Godsey, and wife Mary Ellen Godsey

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Winter Meadow Homes, 2832 SW Mulvane St. Topeka, KS 66611, for the excellent care they gave him. Alternatively, he would appreciate donations to the Shriners Hospital Travel Fund send to 1305 S Kansas Ave, Topeka, KS 66612 or to the organization of the donor's choice.

Services are pending. Inurnment will be at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery 6th and Gage, Topeka, KS.
