Dale William Crisswell

Dale Crisswell, 83, passed away on July 17, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering faith, kindness, and devotion to his family and the Lord. While his family grieves his passing, they also rejoice in knowing that he is now in the presence of the Savior he faithfully served throughout his life.

Dale was born on November 8, 1942, and throughout his 83 years, he lived a life marked by integrity, compassion, and a steadfast commitment to sharing God's love with others.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dale Henry Crisswell and Mary Crisswell, as well as his beloved sister, Mary Sue.

A gifted master carpenter, Dale took great pride in his work and was known for the skill of his hands and the integrity of his craftsmanship. Beyond his trade, he was known throughout the Washburn University campus as the "Washburn Whistler," bringing smiles to those who recognized him by his familiar melodies. He also found great joy in playing the harmonica, sharing music that reflected his cheerful spirit and love of life.

Above all else, Dale loved the Lord with all his heart. He faithfully served as a street preacher, sharing the message of God's love and salvation with anyone willing to listen. Alongside his beloved wife, Cynthia, he dedicated more than 30 years to maintaining a Scripture Sign Ministry, faithfully displaying God's Word as a source of encouragement and hope to countless people in the community. His life was a testimony of faith lived out through love, service, and compassion.

While Dale's faith was the foundation of his life, his family was the joy of his heart. He was a devoted and loving husband, a caring father, a proud grandfather and great-grandfather, and a cherished brother. His greatest happiness came from spending time with those he loved, offering wisdom, laughter, encouragement, and an example of steadfast faith.

Dale is lovingly survived by his devoted wife, Cynthia Crisswell; his beloved daughter, Christina Brun; his brothers, Rex, Carl, Pete, Jimmy, and David; and his sisters, Becky, Betty Ann, Nancy, and Terry. He also leaves behind four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren, extended family members, dear friends, and all whose lives were touched by his kindness, faith, and gentle spirit.

Though his earthly journey has come to an end, Dale's legacy of faith, love, and devotion will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever treasured in the hearts of his family and friends.
