Cynthia Susan Shehata passed away peacefully in Manhattan, Kansas at Via Christie Village on Friday, December 8, 2023, after a very long battle with Kidney Cancer.

Cynthia Susan Shehata was born on January 25, 1953, in Fontana, California to John and Dorothy Petrich. She graduated from Fontana High School in 1971. While she was attending high school, she was part of the Acapella Choir and Up With People, which she enjoyed traveling around Southern California performing with the choir. She was a member of St. George Catholic Church and was an organist who played for their Christmas Masses. She was also a member of SNPJ Lodge 723 and Circle 70 in Fontana, California. She was very proud of her Slovenian Heritage and loved to pass down these traditions to her children.

Cynthia met her husband Kenneth Conley while working in San Bernadino and they were married in 1973. While they were married, she lived in Germany and other countries while her husband was in the Army and enjoyed traveling throughout Europe while being stationed overseas.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents John and Dorothy Petrich. Cynthia is survived by her loving children Colleen Conley Parker (Carl), Christopher Conley, Cassandra Conley-White (Joshua). She is also survived by her four grandchildren Mattieson Parker Solar (Jacob), Charles Parker (Lillie), Meri Parker and Noah Parker. She is also survived by her great-granddaughter Anastasia Solar. She is also survived by her two sisters Carol Harley (James) and Lucille Mlakar (John). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and friends that loved her.

She retired from government service as a Supply Technician from Fort Riley, Kansas in 2015 from Irwin Army Community Hospital. While working for the government for over twenty years, she worked as a Supply Technician for the Army in Heidelberg and Augsburg, Germany and Fort Ord, California. She also worked as a Supply Technician for the Air Force at March Air Force Base in California for several years before moving to Kansas in 1991.

She will be missed very much by everyone that knew her and loved her.
