Curtis Levon Easton

February 12, 1985 — October 10, 2023

Curtis Levon Easton Jr. born February 12th, 1985, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania passed away on October 10, 2023, at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri due to complications of heart failure with family by his bedside.

Curtis moved to Topeka, Kansas in 1999 with his mother Sallie Easton. He was educated in the Seaman and 501 school systems.

Curtis had a strong work ethic and enjoyed his position as Lead Carpet Technician both residential and commercial.

Curtis will be remembered for his skill in the kitchen and as an accomplished grill master. His expertise on his well-worn smoker had guests clamoring for the 5-star meals he created.

Curtis' greatest joy was his son Adrian. From the day he was born he expressed his love to him daily. Thank you, Monica, for the gift you gave him in Adrian.

Curtis is preceded in death by his parents Curtis Easton Jr, Sallie Easton and his brother Christopher Lawrence Sr. He is survived by his Son Adrian (Topeka) and his siblings in Kansas, Pennsylvania and Delaware.

Our family expresses our deepest sympathy to his birth mother Karen.

Curtis has a large and extended family who deeply feel his loss.

Thank you to his friends especially Rob, "my boy Rob" who was a special friend and brother to him.

Deep appreciation to the Topeka Cotton O'Neil Heart Center doctors, nurses and support staff who cared for him before his heart transplant. Eternal gratitude to the doctors, nurses and support staff at the University of Chicago Heart Transplant and Cardiac Department, because of you his life was extended, and he was able to spend more time with his family.

A Memorial Service will be on November 25, 2023, at 2 pm Central time/3 pm Eastern Time. It will be on Zoom. A link will be forthcoming for those who can attend.
