Curtis M. Brown

April 14, 1966 — November 6, 2022

Curtis M. Brown 56 of Topeka, Kansas passed away on November 6, 2022 at The House at Midland Care surrounded by his family. He was born April 14, 1966 at Topeka Kansas, the son of Edward Paul and Dorothy Marie Brown (Burman).

Curtis was a life-long Topeka resident. He graduated from Seaman High School in 1984.

Curtis was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his 5 brothers and 4 sisters. Paula Woodward (Larry), Barry Brown (Terry), Richard Brown (Susie), Craig Brown (Nancy), David Brown (Linda), Scott Brown (Clara), Pam Brown, Penny Deutsch (Jason) and Paige Childers (Jim). He also leaves behind his faithful, sweet, and loyal dog Lizzy. Also surviving are his many, much-loved cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

During his 35 years of employment at Frito Lay in Topeka Curtis formed special relationships with many of his co-workers, calling them his Frito Family. He always assigned nicknames to them, as they had one for him too….."Anderson" Cooper.

We, his family, learned over the past few weeks how special Curtis was to his work family. He was caring, patient, honest, helpful, understanding, dependable and had a dry, funny sense of humor. Many expressed their love for him.

He loved to garden, do yard work, cook, can vegetables and make jelly to give away. He crocheted beautiful Afghans, scarves, and potholders with precision stitches. He also enjoyed making beautiful stained-glass creations. Curtis was a talented artist and a gifted singer.

Cremation has taken place as per Curt's wishes. Private graveside interment will take place with family. A memorial gathering will be scheduled at a later date and will be posted on Midwest Cremation website. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Midland Hospice 200 SW Frazier Circle Topeka KS 66606 or Auburn Community Center 121 W 11th St Auburn, KS 66402.
