Courtney Lynn Canfield

Courtney Lynn Canfield, 47, of Topeka passed away on November 3, 2024. Courtney was born in Richardson, Texas on March 11, 1977. She was a lifelong resident of Topeka. Courtney was a fan of Snoopy and loved collecting Snoopy. She had many furry companions - Fuzz Wuzz, Murphy, Bailey, Scout and Tyson - during her lifetime.

Courtney was affectionately known as Mr. Bill for her collection of injuries, once injuring the same thumb two years apart. Not known for making the most logical of decisions, Courtney once had her grandfather, a lineman, pull her loose tooth when she was surrounded by a dentist, orthodontist and pediatrician. For a short period, Courtney lived with her great-aunt and great-uncle, Sandra and Craig Fischer in Palm Springs, CA. While there, she received training and work experience as a laboratory worker. Courtney was also willing to lend a hand for family - whether it was a trip to DC with her sister, a naughty joke with her brother, a business errand for her mom or a grocery store run for her grandmother.

She was the youngest of three kids and was survived by her siblings, Daniel (Francesca) of Dana Point, CA and Kathryn (Autumn) of Fremont, CA. She's also survived by her nephew, Cooper, cousins Bryce and Colin as well as Todd, Michelle, Brooke, Hunter and Ian. Her uncles - Court, New York, Kevin (Tava), Topeka and Tom, Topeka. also survived her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Christine L. Canfield, mother, and Stephen J. Weidenbaker, father. She was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Margaret and Donald Canfield as well as Eduarda and Charles Weidenbaker. Her uncles Larry and Dean and aunts Sue and Margie also preceded her in death as well as her cousin, Aaron.

Courtney will be cremated and a private gathering of family and friends will be arranged at a later date. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Helping Hands Humane Society Inc., 5720 SW 21st Street, Topeka, KS 66604.
