Cleo Frances (Siegrist) Wickham, 80, of Topeka, died April 13. Frances was born in Simpson, KS, April 1, 1939, to Vivien & Cleo Siegrist. She was one of five children. Phyllis Wendling (Herb Wendling), Eloise Hillman (Chester "Bud" Hillman), William (Bill) Siegrist (Berta Lou Siegrist), and Elizabeth Carlson (Jack Carlson). She graduated from Simpson High School in 1957.
Frances married Charles (Chuck) W. Wickham April 2, 1960. Chuck joined the Kansas Highway Patrol in 1962, and later the family relocated to Great Bend. After Great Bend, was El Dorado. Frances worked for the Clerk of the District Court in Beloit, Great Bend and El Dorado. The couple would relocate one more time to Topeka. In retirement the couple co-managed South Village housing community.
Frances loved Westerns. Nine times out of ten when you'd go to visit, they'd be on in the background. She was a wonderful cook, the family loved so many meals like fried chicken, ribs and kraut, and especially her chocolate mayonnaise cake. Frances loved playing cards and being around friends. Card night at South Village was definitely a hot spot that usually involved a potluck of some sort. She had a special fondness for the latest family addition, Nyx, a rescue dog. She would get so tickled by Nyx and how she played and snuggled.
She is survived by husband Charles (Chuck) Wickham; children Scott (wife Meg) & Tracy (daughter Jordan Farris) Wickham. She was preceded in death by son, Clay Wickham. Frances had seven grandchildren (including two step granddaughters) and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorial arrangements will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, 4/24 at University United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, consider making a gift to the Jordan Farris College Fund at Community National Bank, 5431 SW 29th St, Topeka, KS 66614
