"A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles." - Christopher Reeve

Christopher Robert Poare, 41, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away unexpectedly on April 23, 2026, in Geary County, Kansas, following a vehicle accident during a storm.

Born in Escondido, California, Chris grew up in Southern California and Myrtle Creek, Oregon. A graduate of Escondido High School, he went on to earn his Associate’s Degree in Automotive Technology from Palomar College. Chris was a man of immense character who was willing to take on any job, no matter the challenge, to support and protect his family.

When Chris wasn't rolling up his sleeves to help his family, he was happiest working on cars, playing video games, or exploring the beauty of nature. Grounded by a deep faith in God, he had an incredible knack for finding the funny side of life. That vibrant sense of humor and his talent for bringing a smile to others are the legacies that will stay with us forever.

Chris is survived by his mother, Julie Goddard; his sisters Heather Costa and Amanda Livingston; his brother Terrance Lott and brother-in-law, Robert Costa; his nieces Kaylee Costa, Farah Avalos-Livingston and niece-in-law Tiffany Greg; his nephews Jacob Costa, Skye Bernsdorf and Kurt “Little Man” Latham; his grandmother, Marylou White; his uncles and aunts Kurt and Kim Latham, Mel Latham and Cherian Latham. Chris was preceded in death by his father, Steven Anders, and his grandfather, Malcom Latham.
