Cheryl Lynn McWithey went to Heaven on March 29, 2026. She was met by her mom and dad, whom she missed terribly.
Cheryl was born on March 3, 1956, to Virgil and Helen (Morgan) McWithey in Winfield, KS. She was a bright, stubborn, fun, redheaded, beautiful, blue-eyed lady who loved her family and friends. Cheryl was raised in Winfield and Rose Hill. She went to school and lived at home with her parents until her mom passed away in 1993.
Cheryl lived in different group homes until she met Angela and Howard Lolar. They took Cheryl in and treated her as one of their own. Cheryl got to travel, go to KU football and basketball games, Chiefs football games, and other events.
Cheryl loved her little adopted niece, Annariah, and was very protective of her. They would ride bikes, watch movies, and go out to eat together. During the holiday season, Cheryl would volunteer as a bell ringer for the Salvation Army. She enjoyed helping people when she could.
She liked getting manicures and pedicures. She didn’t at first, but she became a princess diva! Cheryl also liked to gossip. She knew everything about everyone—even if the stories weren’t accurate—and she would tell them.
Cheryl liked to go to her cousin Monica’s farm to help with chores and play with the animals. Monica was her favorite cousin. As a little girl, Cheryl would carry Monica around and beat anyone up if she thought they were being mean to her.
Cheryl loved Angela and Howard very much. She would argue her point until either Angela gave in or Cheryl would get mad and give up—it was comical.
Cheryl will be missed by us all. She is survived by her brother, Harry, and his wife, Carla, of Mulvane; three nephews, Josh, Jason, and Jevin; a great-niece, Josie; and a great-great-nephew. She is also survived by her cousin Monica and family, many other cousins, aunts, and uncles, as well as her adopted family: Howard and Angela Lolar, Annariah, and her best friend and roommate, Tony.
She was deeply loved and cared for by Angela and Howard. We are forever thankful for your care and for loving our girl.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her dad, mom, and brother, Ronnie Ray.
She is going to be missed by us all, but especially by the Lolars. Go fly, our special angel, and be ready for us when we see you again.
