Cheri Lynne Cherry Craft , 64, of Topeka passed away peacefully on February 28, 2025 at home, surrounded by love, after a hard fought battle with breast cancer.
Cheri was born on November 24, 1960 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Alvin and Mary Cherry while living in Delhi, Oklahoma before they moved to Amarillo, TX where Cheri went on to graduate from Caprock High School. She then went on to reside in California and eventually Kansas. Cheri loved to be outdoors. Tending to her garden was one of her favorite ways to pass the time, she loved the sunshine. She was crafty, always knee deep in a project until she could no longer. She loved doing projects with her grandchildren. Cheri once said her greatest accomplishment in life is her children. She was proud of all of her family. Cheri was full of life and had a gentle, kind soul. In her last few weeks her wish was to be surrounded by the people she loved and her family made that wish a reality. She was deeply loved by her family and friends, and she loved them all fiercely and unconditionally.
She is survived by her husband, Glenn, her mother, Mary Cherry (Simmons) of Topeka; children Dustin and Caitlin Cherry of Columbus, Indiana, Monica and Chad Fleer of Topeka; and step daughters Tammy and Todd Olson of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and Shauna and Mason Vasquez of Midland, Texas; grandchildren Matthew and wife Mary, Caitlin and husband Lance, Austin, Madison, Cora, Chloe, Avery, Evelynn, Alvin, Devin, and four great grandchildren; two brothers, Terry Cherry and Jerry and Nancy Cherry of Amarillo, Texas; along with many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father Alvin Cherry, her step mother Nell Cherry, her mother in law, Glenda Craft, her step son Darrin Gayaldo, and her grandson Tripp Vasquez.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
