Charles E. Rothe (Chuck) died December 18, 2018 in Topeka, Kansas. He was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin on September 22, 1943 to Walter and Mathilda (Taylor) Rothe, who predeceased him. His brother, Walter Rothe, also predeceased him.
After graduating from Green Bay East High School, he served in the U.S. Air Force. He was stationed in Japan during Vietnam, and also at Forbes Field in Topeka, Kansas. He was proud of the time he served in the Air Force.
He was a passionate fan of the Green Bay Packers and reading. He enjoyed impressing others with his substantial vocabulary. He also loved dogs, and leaves behind his fur baby, Pookie.
He married Betty Guth, in Topeka, Kansas, and had two daughters. They later divorced. He subsequently married Janet Cordill. She died on November 21, 2004.
He is survived by his daughters, Rachel Bartels (Dan) and Alicia Rothe (Travis Scannell), and three grandchildren: D.J., Stephen and Ashley Bartels. He is also remembered by six nieces and nephews. His first wife, Betty Clemons, also survives. The family wishes to express their appreciation for his friend, Tom Muth, who became part of the family over the last several months.
Per his wishes, he was cremated. Private services are planned at a later date in Wisconsin.
