Charles Marvin Peterson

Charles Marvin Peterson (Pete), 88, died Thursday, 12/14/17 at his home in Council Grove after losing his battle with cancer.

Pete was born 12/25/1928 in Alta Vista. He was preceded in death by his parents Edna (Reed) Peterson and Charles Peterson, a sister Wilma Cornell (Billie), and a brother Jerry Peterson. He is survived by his wife of 68 years Edith (Garrett) Peterson, 3 daughters, Susan Stratton, Lyndon, Dorothy Richter, Fort Collins, Co, Cindy Cavalieri and husband Dan of Council Grove, 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandson and his brother Ron Peterson of Strong City.

After graduating high school in Council Grove, Pete joined the army until 1950 when he moved to Great Bend, KS. There he worked and raised his family until 1972 when he moved to Big Piney, Wy to work in the oil field. His job then moved him, his wife and youngest daughter to Aberdeen Scotland where he worked offshore in the North Sea, until his return to Council Grove in 1986. He started a business PDQ Mfg & Sales until his retirement in 1994.

Cremation is planned but at Charles' request, the funeral will take place at the time of his wife Edith's' death when both will be buried in the Greenwood Cemetery together.

Pete will be sorely missed by his family and friends. His larger than life personality, witty sense of humor, guidance and stories will forever bring smiles to those who remember him.
