Charles William “Chuck” Cole, Jr.

August 29, 1946 — May 20, 2021

Charles William "Chuck" Cole, Jr. was called home to his Lord on May 7, 2021. Chuck was born in Zalma, MO on August 29, 1946.

Chuck served courageously and honorably in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. Following his honorable discharge from the Air Force he worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber in Topeka, KS. He also worked for Shawnee County Public Works for about 30 years as Traffic Supervisor and manager of Household and Hazardous Waste.

After Chuck retired from Shawnee County, he drove a school bus in Katy, TX where he lived for three years and then returned to Topeka, KS.

Chuck was an accomplished Kansas watercolor artist, poet, and cartoonist. He also enjoyed making furniture, driving his tractor and helping people. He was well known for his beautiful smile and he lived an exemplary life. As a member of Town and Country Christian Church Chuck loved greeting members as they arrived for services.

After suffering a stroke last year Chuck loved to pray for others. It can be truly said that "he fought a good fight" until he went to meet his Lord. Chuck will be missed by his family and all who knew him. Chuck is survived by his wife, Nancy; children Brett, Minda, and Nathan and grandchildren Gus, Cub, and Mia whom he loved very much.
