Cecil Elizabeth Gilliland

Cecil Elizabeth Gilliland died at Winchester Nursing Home, at the age of 90 years old, on July 16, 2015.

Mrs. Gilliland was a homemaker, who was truly devoted to her family and grandchildren. She was born at Winona, Kansas, October 20, 1924. She attended the first consalidated school in Kansas. Her father helped in the construction of the school.

Her parents were Grant and Mary Miller. She later moved to Muscotah, Kansas.

Mrs. Gilliland was a member of the Methodist Church at Muscotah.

She later moved to Effingham, Kansas and was a member of the Methodist Church.

Cecil Gilliland was a wonderful mother, loving wife, and made our lives much happier for being a part of it.

She married Harvey (Red) Gilliland on December 29, 1945 in Atchison, Kansas. He survives at the home of his son in Easton, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, serveral sisters and two brothers. Additional survivors include a son, Larry Gilliland, Easton, Kansas. A daughter, Leona Henry, Highlands, Texas. Seven grandchildern and sixteen great grandchildern.

Cecil Gilliland was ceremated and the burial will be at a later date at the Effingham Cemetary.
