Cathleen Sue Dachenhausen

January 20, 1950 — June 5, 2023

Cathleen Sue Dachenhausen, affectionately known as Cathy, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2023, in Tecumseh, Kansas, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on January 20, 1950, in Topeka, Kansas, Cathy was a loving, selfless, and wise woman who devoted her life to her family and friends.

Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Jeanne Garner, her sister Roberta Garner, her stepdaughter Leslie Casey, her grandson Justin Holcomb and a great-grandson Elijah Boyett. . She is survived by her husband of many years, Donald Dachenhausen, her children Richard, Christopher, and Michelle Boyett, 17 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. Her family was the center of her universe, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion that will be cherished for generations to come.

Cathy held a Bachelor's Degree in Business, which she used to support her family and contribute to her community. She was a firm believer in the value of education and encouraged her children and grandchildren to pursue their dreams and reach their full potential. As Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, "Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail." Cathy exemplified this quote by forging her own path in life and inspiring those around her to do the same.

Cathy's interests were centered around spending quality time with her friends and family. She loved hosting gatherings, sharing stories, and creating lasting memories with her loved ones. Her home was a haven for all who entered, and she had a way of making everyone feel welcome and cared for. Her laughter and sense of humor were infectious, filling any room with warmth and joy.

Caring for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was Cathy's greatest passion. She was selfless in her love and support, always putting the needs of others before her own. As a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Cathy imparted her wisdom and life lessons to the younger generations, teaching them the importance of kindness, empathy, and resilience. Her spirit will live on in the hearts and minds of those she leaves behind.

In her later years, Cathy faced her battle with cancer with grace and determination. She remained a pillar of strength for her family, showing them that even in the face of adversity, love and hope could prevail. Her courage and unwavering spirit will forever be an inspiration to those who knew her.

As we remember and celebrate the life of Cathleen Sue Dachenhausen, we are reminded of the profound impact she had on the lives of so many. She was a shining example of love, compassion, and wisdom, and her memory will be cherished by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
