Carolyn Lynn Roudybush

d. July 20, 2019

Carolyn Roudybush started her dash of life on February 21, 1968 in Manhattan, KS. On July 12, 2019 Carolyn's dash ended surrounded by her family and friends at Midland Care Hospice House.

Carolyn was the second born daughter to Larry and Shirley (Havenstein) Roudybush.  Carolyn lived in Wamego for the first few years of her life, starting her grade school career there. The family moved to the Topeka area for a few years before settling in Auburn in 1979.

Carolyn graduated in 1986 from Washburn Rural High School and obtained her Associates Degree from Washburn University.  Carolyn worked for the State of Kansas for 29 years starting her career with the Clerk of the Court and ending with 26 of those years being with the Board of Indigents Defense.

Carolyn was a kind and loving person.  She met a lot of friends through her job and organizations like the Kansas Jaycees and Auburn Volunteer Association.  She loved to travel, especially to Alaska and Wisconsin to see the Corliss family.  Family was very important to Carolyn, if you don't believe that just ask her nieces and nephews Jacob, Caleb, Jenny, Mariah, Michael, Ethan, Katelyn, Kishno, Madison, Noah, Caleb, Aidan, Triniti, Rylan, Adalynn, Josiah, Piper, Kenzie and Aeyana.  She loved her fur babies as well.

Carolyn is survived by her mother Shirley, sisters Sharon (Bill) Hester and Susie (Richard) Worley, nephews Billy Hester, Bryan (Charity) Hester, Derrick Blatt, Trenton (Christian) Worley, Clinton Worley, Brian Norris, as well as her bonus sisters Ronna Sue (Mick), Rachel (Brian), Beth, Amy, and Tracy (Rich). Carolyn was preceded in death by her father Larry, grandparents Carl and Martha Havenstein, and Guy and Eula Roudybush, and nephew Marcus Worley.

In true Carolyn style she took control and planned her services to take the burden off her family.  Carolyn would like her family and friends to come together on Saturday September 7, 2019 at 11:00 am with a visitation starting at 10:00 am at First Congregational Church, 17th and Collins, Topeka, KS.

Carolyn loved dragonflies, dragons, butterflies, birds, all types of flowers, and animals of every size and shape. Please wear your favorite shirt with any of these to help us celebrate her life, her way. In lieu of flowers, Carolyn asked for donations to be made to Midland Care designated for Hospice House, or First Congregational Church for the gardens.
