Carolyn Sue Hudson of Hoyt, Kansas was born December 19,1950 and passed away July 16, 2024. Carolyn's journey through life was marked by her determination to provide for her family, tending to her house and land that she created with the help of her family and neighbors, she was an avid fan of music and movies, and had a love of animals.
She is survived by a loving family who cherished the time with her. Her Mother, Mildred Traphagen. Carolyn's legacy lives on through her son, John Bradley Hudson, and her daughter Heather Ann Hudson-Gentry (Mark Gentry) and her grandchildren Santos Arellano II, Hudson Gentry, Maddie Gentry, and Carly Gentry. They will forever hold onto the precious memories they created with their beloved Mom and "TwoMes". She is also survived by members of the Hoyt community who were more like family than neighbors.
She is preceded in death by her father Frank Ferrier, her stepfather Ed Traphagen, her sister Hazel Hastings, a nephew Eric Ferrier, and John David Hudson, the love of her life.
As we say farewell to Carolyn, we celebrate a life of overcoming obstacles through the years despite the odds. Her spirit will continue to guide and inspire those who were fortune enough to know her. Carolyn's light will never dim, for it shines brightly in the lives she knew and loved. Her journey here has ended, but her story will be told for generations to come, a story of hard work, determination, and most importantly a fighting spirit.
In memory of Carolyn, the family asks that those who are able, to be an organ or blood donor or be a supporter of the Humane Society.
A celebration of life will be at a later time on her property in Hoyt.
