Carol Sue Wilder-Beam 73, Scranton Ks, went to be with Jesus Nov. 13, 2020.
Born in Topeka, KS December 5, 1946 to Gladys Anna Beard Wilder and General Dewey Wilder. Carol married Ward Lee Beam Sr. December 1965, they had three children. They later divorced but remained friends.
Carol was proceeded in death by her parents, 7 siblings and her beloved daughter Angela Beam. Survivors include daughter, Kimberly Silver (Kenneth), Lee Beam Jr, granddaughter Kelsey Silver, sisters Barbara Wilder Frisby, Sandy Wilder Morrison, Joyce Wilder, and brother Steve Wilder.
Carol was the 9th of 12 children, she adored and loved her parents, all her brothers and sisters, as well as her many nieces and nephews. Carol got her name from her grandmother who told her mother (Gladys) she was having a girl in December and to name her Carol after Christmas carols.
Carol worked in the restaurant business over the years, she enjoyed meeting new people and took much pride in her work. Carol was a member of Grace Community Church of Overbrook Ks; she loved to sing and worship the Lord. She talked of their many conversations during her final years, including her telling Jesus on us if we did something silly to her. Carol had many joys in her life and was a very strong woman. Her children and family were very important to her as was her cat Lippy whom she loved so much, and he misses her dearly. Carol enjoyed, embordering, sewing by hand, making wax roses, cooking, decorating cakes, making homemade candy, and gardening. She had a gift of cutting and styling many heads of hair over the years. Carol had a green thumb for growing beautiful morning glories that would overflow her trellis. She enjoyed outdoor activities, camping, fishing, and picnics. Christmas was one of Carols favorite holidays, the celebration of Christ birth. Carol was known for her decorating every inch of the house with various decorations. She would spend hours putting the final touches on her tree by hanging the icicles one by one. Carol also placed her many beautiful Christmas dolls throughout the house.
Carol made friends easily and was always there to lend a hand. She looked forward to greeting her neighbors and visiting. She always found someone to have a conversation with everywhere she went.
Carol is and will continue to be missed by many.
