Carla D. Katsbulas –Cole

Carla D. Katsbulas - Cole of Tecumseh, 61 years young, Daughter of Carl B. and Ruth J. Cole, passed peacefully while in the loving care of her Mother, her three daughters Billie Stewart, Jamie Katsbulas, and Ashley Katsbulas, her Son-in-Law Jim Stewart and her 8 grandchildren. Carla was preceded in death by her father Carl B. Cole and two grandchildren.

She believed well behaved women rarely make history and, if you obey all the rules you miss all the fun. She lived an amazingly, extraordinary, fearless life.

A beautiful woman of many traits, she conquered anything she tried. Remodel a house, fix a car, throw together a quick meal for 50, whip up something on the sewing machine, plan, plant and grow a garden, Carla did it all with style and finesse.

She had a soft spot for animals and was known to keep a menagerie that included cats, dogs, ducks, guinea hens, and a chicken or two.

Carla never held a grudge, she just remembered facts. She was the essence of generosity and kindness and she ignited a spark in everyone's life she touched. She saw the hard road as a challenge to defeat and conquer. When life put her in tough situations, she didn't say "why me", she said "try me, I can do it". Her tenacious spirit taught us to live fiercely, never give up, and to always have hope.

She will be missed more than words could ever express.

Carla retired from the State of Kansas Department of Revenue after 32 years of service.

She is survived by her Mother, Ruth J. Cole, her Daughters, Billie Stewart (Jim), Jamie Katsbulas, and Ashley Katsbulas, her 8 grandchildren, Lilly, Ella and Cree Stewart, Dominic Katsbulas, Blaise & Amani Katsbulas-Vaughn, M.J. and Maliyah Lewis, a nephew John Davidson (Fallon), and numerous Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.

A potluck celebration of her life will be held at Bettis Family Sport Complex at Lake Shawnee on Sunday, June 12th at 1:00.
