Carie Ann Cortez

Carie passed on to eternal life with her savior Jesus, with family members present by her side.

She was born in Topeka, Kansas and lived most of her life in Topeka. She attended Topeka High School.

Carie married Scott Neff in 1996 and had a son they named him Geoffry. They later divorced.

She worked as a cashier at Loves on Highway 24 and also at the Topeka turnpike gas station.

Carie moved to Hastings, Nebraska in 2010 and remained there until 2020. She was a fry cook at McDonalds there and also held other jobs.

She loved her sweet dogs Lula, Winston and Chewy. She also collected turtle figurines and loved to listen to music and cook for family and friends.

Carie had a relationship with Jesus and was baptized recently while in the hospital in Kansas City. Her favorite saying was “believe that! “She often put that on her social media page.

She is survived by her mother Carol Coffman, son Geoffry Neff, grandson Robert Neff and a daughter Isabella Cortez all of Topeka, KS. A sister Carmen Lanier of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, a brother Jerry Cortez of Topeka and a sister Serenity McKimmy of McLouth, Kansas and many nieces and nephews also survive.

She is preceded in death by her father Genaro Cortez.
