Candis Jolene Gustin

Candis (Candy) Jolene Gustin, 59, bid us farewell on August 14th, 2018.

Candy had a contagious spirit that brought light to all she met. She found the beauty in everything she saw and everyone she met. She lived her life through music and dance and had a unique understanding of how everything in life was connected. She was a true child of the earth who valued nature over material items.

Hot dogs, ice cream with peanuts and Hershey's syrup, pancakes with peanut butter, and just about anything that could be cooked on a campfire nourished her soul. When it came to nourishing others, no one could make chicken noodle soup like Candy.

Thinking of Candy will always evoke memories of dancing, singing, tie-dye, crafts, and love. She gave the best hugs, and allowed everyone to feel at home no matter where they were.

When met with adversity, Candy chose to face it head on. She lived more in the last year of her life than most of us live in a lifetime. She proved to us that nothing can damper a spirit and that living out loud truly frees the soul. Candy's light will shine down on all of us as we go through life. She will continue to guide us through the good times and the bad; her memory serving as a beacon to all who were lucky enough to know her.
