Bob Franklin, 69, a resident of Auburn, Kansas passed away on May 10, 2018.

Mr. Franklin was born on August 25,1948 in Topeka, KS, the son of Arthur and Ruth Franklin.

During the Vietnam War heenlisted at the age of 17. He served in the US Army from 1966-1970. He was awarded with two Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart during his service and achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. Hejoined Topeka Fire Department in 1970 and retired in 2004 with the rank of Battalion Chief. He served in the Kansas Air National Guard from 1977-1983. In 2006 he joined the Washburn Univeristy Police Department, he retired in 2015 as Sergeant. Mr. Franklin was well respected, in all of his endeavors and was a great mentor to many.

Bob is survived by his wife of 44 years, Ruth Ann Franklin, children Jennifer and Jay. Grandchildren Zachary, Routh, Addison and Cooper. Brothers Don and Chuck and a sister Tokie.

In Lieu of flowers the family requests Memorial contributions be made to The Wounded Warrior Project in his name.

A private memorial service will be held.
