Betty Amelia Swendson

Betty Amelia (Crawford) Swendson passed away on April 24th, 2017 at the age of 89. She was born May 5th, 1927 at Ponca City, OK. She married Billy F Swendson on July 13, 1956. She attended Oklahoma State and Emporia State graduating with a B.S. Degree in education in 1949. She taught 28 years in grade school and Junior High.

She was preceded in death by her father, Oron La Rocke Crawford, mother Twila Marie (Wadsworth) Crawford, brothers Oron Crawford and Jerry Crawford.

She is survived by her husband Bill, two sons, Bill Jr and wife Robin of Salina, Todd and wife Ann of Burlington, and a daughter Denise Busic of Lawrence and 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She will be cremated with a private inurnment at a later date.

There will be a memorial service on Wednesday, April 26th at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Newton, KS.
