Betty Jo Seimears (BJ) ,75, Overbrook, Ks. passed away June 4, 2017 after a long battle with Alzheimer at Brookside Retirement Center.

She was born in Sun City, Kansas April 26, 1942 the daughter of John & Helen Seimears.

Betty enjoyed ceramics, sewing, camping, jet skiing, ATV trips with family and traveling. Betty loved spending time with family especially her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by both her parents, her brothers John Seimears, Martin Seimears, Frank Seimears and her sister Connie Dunnaway and brother in law Gail Dunnaway . Survivor's are her sister Nancy Taylor husband Harold and sister-in-law Barbara Seimears, and many nieces and nephews.

Betty spent most of her childhood in the Piedmont, Ks area. The family moved to Eureka, Ks in 1956 where Betty went to high school in 1960. After graduation she moved to Emporia where she worked at Hallmark Cards, Burg & Frost Pharmacy and Emporia State Bank. She briefly lived in Michigan and California where she worked in the banking industry before moving to Topeka, Ks where she worked for Core First Bank until her retirement in 2006 as Vice President of the Loans and Collections Department.

She was involved with the CASA Program and Safe Streets program. She loved working with young people.

A celebration of life will be June 24, 2017, 11 am at the Michigan Valley Community Church 6485 E. 221st St.,Michigan Valley, Ks. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Alzheimer Association and mailed to: Michigan Valley Community Church PO Box 5 Lyndon, Ks. 66451
