Bernard Leroy Pyle, 80, died at home March 27, 2022. He was born June 23, 1941, the son of George V and Nellie E Bundy Pyle, at the St Anthony's Hospital in Sabetha, KS.
He attended Morrill Grade School and Morrill High School graduating in 1959. He graduated from Kansas State University in 1970. He was a member of the Countryside United Methodist Church, Topeka KS. His love of family led to genealogy. Hunting, fishing and hiking led to his love of photography. Planning, designing, and using his hands led to woodworking. Love of history led to reading and studying the Civil War, WWI and WWII.
Bernard married Marinda May Bailey August 20, 1961, at The Church of the Brethren, Morrill, KS. Survivors are his wife, 2 sons: Kevin S Pyle (Vickie) of Spring, TX and Brian L Pyle (Sarah) of Derby, England; 3 grandchildren: Nicole, Kelly (Davey), and Samuel. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 sister: Marjorie Mason and 3 brothers: Robert, George and Bill.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00, Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at Countryside United Methodist Church, 3221 SW Burlingame Rd, Topeka, KS. Memorial contributions may be made to Countryside United Methodist Church, American Heart Association or the Lupus Foundation of America. Cremation was provided by Mid-West Cremation, Inc., Topeka, KS.
