Benjamin N. Ortiz Benji )

Benjamin N. Ortiz ( Benji ) was born to Socoro and Jesus Naverette Ortiz, on June 6th 1933, passed away on September 13th 2014, peacefully at his home surrounded by his wife Veva E. McNary Ortiz, and family. Ben and Veva were married December 6th 1975, celebrated almost 39 years. Ben and Veva enjoyed traveling, family gathering, woodworking and tinkering around the house, enjoyed family and friends. Survived by daughters: Rebecca, Debra and Sylvia, sons: James, Dana, and Eric, step daughters: Carole, Dixie, Linda, Glenda, Cathy, brothers Nicolas and Thomas and numerous grandchildren, great and great – great grandchildren. Ben enjoyed and love animals and especially his 4 dogs and cat. Ben served in the Army during the Korean war, he belonged to the American Legion Post 0058, and retired as a welder. Preceded in death by Father and Mother: sisters: Rachel, Virginia, and Amelia, brothers: Vincent, Anthony, Socoro, and Daniel, stepson: Jay Edwards.

Memorial dinner will be held at the Goodyear shelter house at 4:00 pm. There will be a prayer following the dinner at 7:00 pm on 9/17/2014.
