Barbara Ann Forrester, known by most as Barb or Candy or Mom to her friends and loved ones. Barb passed away peacefully on her 85th birthday, September 30, 2024, in a Topeka Hospital with her family by her side. Barb was born on September 30, 1939, in Topeka. Barb's life was marked by her wisdom, sternness, creativity, and a zest for life.
Barb worked hard her whole life, she worked in Cosmetology, medical offices, selling real estate but her true talent came out when Barb and Bob opened B & H trucking and then owners of Forrester Truck Service, where she was much more than just the heart of the office. Barb had her place in the office and Bob had his place in the shop and the two had an unwritten rule to stay in their place.
Beyond her professional achievements, Barb's interests were as vibrant and varied as her personality. She was an avid collector with an eye for the unique and beautiful. She joyfully hunted for treasures at garage sales and/or auctions. Her collection of dolls, purses, shoes, and—most dear to her—diamonds, was a testament to her love for things that sparkled, both literally and metaphorically. Barb liked to be on the go so traveling was another of Barb's passions, allowing her to explore and embrace new experiences. Bob and Barb would have traveled the world if possible, with their two steady companions Molly and Angel.
As we bid farewell to Barbara Ann Forrester, we celebrate a life lived to the fullest, a journey marked with joy, courage, adventures but most of all, the love of her life Bob. These two were inseparable and these two complimented each other and they enjoyed some of the most memorable times which most will never experience. Though she has left this world, the wisdom she shared and the memories she created will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to cross paths with her.
In honor of Barb's remarkable life, her 5 children will remember her not with sadness but with rejoice. Rejoicing in everything she taught them. Barbara Ann Forrester, a remarkable woman, will be deeply missed, yet her light will continue to guide us, just as the stars guide travelers in the night sky.
