Anthony (Tony) D. Marstall, 64, of Eskridge, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 17, 2026, just two weeks after receiving a cancer diagnosis.
He was born on September 14, 1961 in Topeka, Kansas, the oldest son of Norman and Shirley Marstall. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1979.
Tony retired in 2022 after dedicating 30 years to the Kansas Department of Transportation.
In 1980, he married his first wife, Patricia (Prior), and together they had two daughters. He later married his current wife, Amy, and they have two sons.
Tony is the proud father of Dannielle (Mark) Perry, Bailey (Dallas) Alexander, stepson Michael DeVader, Christopher (Katie) Marstall, and Robert (Ashley) Marstall.
He found great joy in his grandchildren Max, Sebastian, Calyn, Ava, Hadley, Cole, and Blaire.
Tony had a special way of finding joy in life’s simple, meaningful moments. On April 6th, Tony made the decision to be baptized and accepted Jesus as his Savior. He loved his dogs like family, always happiest with a loyal companion by his side. The Flint Hills held a special place in his heart, where he could take in the wide-open beauty and feel truly at peace. One of his favorite traditions was getting together with friends each year to round up cattle—a time filled with hard work, laughter, and stories that would be shared long after the day was done. These were the moments that defined him and the life he loved.
In keeping Tony’s wishes, he will be cremated and his ashes will be spread in the Flint Hills, a place he deeply loved and always felt at home. A celebration of life is being planned, and the date and details will be shared with friends and family in the near future.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wabaunsee County Fair Association in Tony’s honor. Donations may be mailed to Mary Reed Spencer, Fair Board President, at 370 Lakeshore Drive, Alma, KS, 66401.
