Anne Elizabeth Pritchard

Anne Elizabeth Pritchard, 90, of Topeka, KS, passed away peacefully at her home on Sept. 26, 2026.

Born 1935 in Uxbridge, England, she met and married an American GI and spent the rest of her adult life in the United States supporting and raising her three children on her own. She was a hard worker who dedicated 32 years to a career with Hallmark Cards at their production plant in Topeka. She notoriously checked the back of every greeting card she received to make sure the sender didn’t skimp on a cheap imitation.

After her retirement, she enjoyed years of traveling the U.S. and the world, creating wonderful memories along the way with her beloved sisters, Sheila Roberts (England) and Molly Maguire (Scotland). She was devoted to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and spent much time showing up for them in ways small and large throughout their lives.

Anne was preceded in death by her sister, Sheila Roberts, and her granddaughter Kelly Jackson. She is survived by her children — daughter Bernice and husband Leroy Schwartzman of Lake St. Louis, MO, daughter Sherry and husband Bill Goodwin of Paola, KS, and son David and wife Terri Pritchard of Topeka, KS; her grandchildren — Casey and wife Sara Jackson of Chattanooga, TN, Josh and wife Monica Pritchard of Topeka, KS, Travis Goodwin of Portland, OR, and Nicky Goodwin of Olathe, KS; and her great-grandchildren — Owen and Benjamin Jackson of Chattanooga, TN, Arthur Jackson of Topeka, KS, Jacob, Adrian and Angelina Pritchard of Topeka, KS, and Tony Curiale of Olathe, KS.

Anne was a no-nonsense woman with a stubborn streak who didn’t hesitate to tell you what she thought. She was fun-loving and thoughtful and kind, and she loved her family hard. Her quick wit and sense of humor brought so much laughter into the lives of those who loved her back. She will be deeply missed.

A casual celebration of life is taking place Oct. 4, 2026 from 2-3 p.m. at Celebration Villa of Hearthstone East in Topeka.
