Anna “Annie” M. Whitesell

Anna "Annie" M. Whitesell, 82 of Scranton, Kansas Passed away peacefully on Monday December 14, 2020 at Midland Care, Topeka, Kansas after a battle with Cancer. She was born on October 27, 1938 in Seneca Ks, daughter of John and Merwina (Levings) Martin.

She married Carl "Gene" Whitesell in Topeka, Kansas on February 15, 1958. They were married for 61 years.

Anne and Gene made Topeka Ks home to raise their 6 children, she worked for Highland Park High school in food service. When she and Gene retired they moved to "the farm" in Scranton Ks. She loved to cook, and make Christmas candy for family and friends. She loved working in her flowerbeds and bird watching. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, they were her pride and joy.

Preceding her in death are her husband Gene Whitesell, her parents John and Merwina Martin,  three brothers James Martin, Leo Martin, Leroy Martin, two sisters Charlotte Jones, Rosemary Passino, and a grandson Spencer Whitesell.

She is survived her children Brenda Whitesell Scranton, Ks, Carla Childers(Phil) Topeka, Kansas, Mary Rogers(Jerry) Berryton, Kansas, Pat Whitesell(Kenda) Burlingame, Kansas, Mike Whitesell(Jeanne) Scranton, Kansas, and Rita Burch(Billy) Topeka, Kansas . Her brother Charles Martin Mayetta Ks, two sisters Patrica Taylor Wichita Ks  and Betty Fuqua(Jack) Mayetta Ks. 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Private memorial will take place. Celebration of Life will be held at later date, due to covid 19. Family has asked in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Midland Care, 120 SW Fraizier Circle, Topeka Kansas 66601
