Ann Elizabeth Harrison, 86, of Topeka, KS, passed away in her home on November 24, 2021. Graveside services will be May 14, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Hutchinson, KS. Officiating will be Fr. Laird MacGregor. Ann was born May 18, 1935, in Salina, KS to parents S.O. and Beulah Harrison. She was a lifetime lover of education and books. After attending Hutchinson High School, she obtained one Master of Arts degree from Colorado University, a Ph.D from the University of Kansas, a Master of Science from Kansas State University, a Ph.D from Kansas State University, a Master of Science from the University of Kansas and was awarded two Fulbright Scholarships, one from the University of London, England and one from the University of Tokyo, Japan. She worked in education for most of her career and ultimately worked as Director of Planning, Research and Evaluation for the Kansas Board of Education. She retired from there and again from the Smithsonian Institute, Washington, D.C. and from The Great Courses, Chantilly, Virginia. Foremost, she loved God, was a prolific reader, was very generous, loved her family with passion and particularly loved to playfully argue with her brothers, John and Jay. She also professed her sister-in-law Jerry Ann was her true sister. She loved music and dogs, particularly a three-legged rescue named Gracie. Ann was proceeded in death by her parents and her cherished friend and sister-in-law Betty and her beloved nephew Jeffrey Troy Harrison. Ann is survived by her two brothers, John Harrison from Newton, KS, and Jay Harrison and wife Jerry Ann from Salado, TX, Stephanie Ann Harrison, cherished niece from Frisco, TX, and Glenda Cox, her very best friend from Topeka, KS. We all deeply mourn her passing and miss her more than words can express. Memorial contributions may be made to Phoenix Home Health & Hospice, Topeka, KS, who lovingly cared for Ann during the last months of her life or Helping Hands Humane Society of Topeka (hhhstopeka.org)
