Anita Marie Wilson

December 12, 1932 — June 23, 2019

Anita Marie (Randall) Wilson, age 86 years, died Sunday June 23, 2019 after suffering a stroke earlier in the week. Anita was born December 12, 1932 to Ann and Syl Randall.  She attended school and grew up in Wamego, Ks.

Anita married the love of her life Donald Wilson on December 25, 1950. They were married 68 years. They had two children Father Deacon(FD) Michael Wilson and Kim Wilson Young. They raised their children and lived most of their married life in Manhattan, Ks.

In Anita's younger years, she volunteered and belonged to many organizations and enjoyed many activities in the community but most of all Anita enjoyed entertaining where she would prepare good food and serve good wine. She was able to travel a great deal with her husband in the states and abroad: California, Texas, Louisiana, Venezuela, New Zealand, and Germany were a few of her favorite trips.

Anita was a homemaker and cherished wife and mother. In her later years, she discovered her gift and passion and became an artist. Today many of her paintings are enjoyed by family and friends across the country.

Anita resided at Meadowlark Hills Retirement Community in Manhattan, Kansas during her last days and was cared for by the kind staff and her husband and family.  She remained stubborn, impatient, loving and grateful to the end.

Anita was proceeded in death by her parents Ann and Syl Randall, Leverne and Frank Wilson, her uncle, Oscar Randall; sister- in- laws Ramona Wilson and Diane Wilson and her brothers-in-law Butch Banker and Raymond Wilson.

She is survived by her sister Sylda and brother - in – law Tom Nichols; her children Kim and Reggie Young, FD Michael and Teresa Wilson; grandchildren Danny Young, Jessica Young, and Nesta and Gretchen Wilson: great grandchildren Mia, Anthony and Akeila Young and Lily Torrez; her in laws Doris and Bob Weeks, Terry and Chris Wilson, and Sherry Banker and many nieces and nephews and extended family.

The family thanks you for your prayers and kind thoughts during this time of mourning. We encourage you to remember our mom, Anita, as we will, whenever you read a great book, have a glass of wine or create your own art. She would like that.
