Alice Elizabeth Specht

Alice Elizabeth Specht, 92, Topeka, passed away Friday, July 23, 2021 at Midland Hospice House after a brief illness.

Liz was born April 21, 1929 in Milford, Kansas, the daughter of Walter and Lula Zoah (Martin) Rice and grew up in Manhattan.  She graduated from Manhattan High School in 1947.

She was employed by Capitol Federal Savings Bank in Topeka for 29 years, retiring in 1991.

Liz married Leland Specht, Sr. on March 21, 1948 in Manhattan.  Survivors include children, Sharyl (Jerry) Coffey, Amy (Mike) White, Keith Specht, all of Topeka, Clay (Patti) Specht, Tecumseh, Eldon (Janelle) Specht, Keller, TX, Glenn Specht, Gilbert, AZ; brother, Warren Rice, Mesa, AZ; sister, Barbara Miller, Idaho Springs, CO; 8 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband and parents; brothers, Walter Rice, Jr., Glenn Rice, Don Rice; and grandson, Brian Specht.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Capper Foundation.

Interment will be at a later date.
