Alan Wade Johnson, born February 4, 1964, age 51, passed away on July 14, 2015 at the home. His children Joe (Jenny) and Billy (Ashley) Johnson, grandson Tanner Johnson, sisters Kathy Johnson, Terri Johnson and Tammi Johnson-Arellano, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, his longtime companion, Pam Montague, and family Brandy and Misty Crouch, Cyarra Sherley, and Savannah and Steven Bailey survive. He was preceded in death by his parents Gary and Bonnie (née McMaster) Johnson.
He was previously married to Patty Lamb-Brown and Gina Flores. They both survive.
Alan lived his whole life in Topeka, Kansas, and attended Lundgren Elementary, Holliday Junior High, and Highland Park High. He was a third generation employee at Fleming's Distribution, and worked there with his father for many years before the company closed. He had also worked at Kansas Trucking, the Kansas Expocentre, and Berry's Arctic Ice.
Alan was deeply loved by all of his family, and had a very special relationship as "Papaw" to his grandson Tanner "Bug" Johnson.
Services will be held Sunday, July 19, 2015 at Oakland Church of the Nazarene, 939 NE Oakland Ave, at 4:00 pm. Cremation will occur prior to service, and there will be no grave side ceremony.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at any Envista Credit Union under the Alan Wade Johnson Memorial Fund to help with final expenses.
