Terry Lee Holder - 61 of Osage City, peacefully passed away listening to his favorite singer Elvis and even though he was unable to speak, he would moan sing to his favorite songs until the moment he took his last breath on Monday, December 25th at a Topeka hospital with his companion by his side. He was born August 14, 1956 in Watertown, NY, the son of Charles R. and Barbara Ann (Goodfriend) Holder. Terry was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Randy Holder, Gary Holder, George Goodfriend, and sister Connie Evans. He is survived by his significant other, Cherida DeWitt, daughter Dawn Brown, grandson Kaleb Brown, his sisters Barbara Hoffman, Bonnie Barnet, Cheryl Goodfriend, Susan Barlett, and Sandra Rose. Brothers Charles Holder Jr., and Archie Holder. His extended grandchildren Levi Hamner, Alexyss Woodyard, Chelsea DeWitt, Tyler DeWitt, Colton Cummons, Brookelin Cummons, Garyson Cummons, Carly DeWitt, Keaton DeWitt, and Cooper DeWitt. Terry was raised and attended school in Watertown, NY. When he became of age he joined the Marine Corps and served in Okinawa, Japan during the Vietnam War. Upon returning home he was briefly married to Theresa (unknown last name). 30 years later he had the blessing of meeting his biological daughter Dawn Brown and grandson Kaleb Brown. Terry was married to Joan Marie Moss on April 4, 1993, they had no children, they later divorced. He spent the last 15 years with his best friend/significant other, Cherida DeWitt, they met in 2002 and remained committed till his death. Terry had numerous careers over the years, but the most recent was Security Guard and an over the road truck driver. Terry's passion was orneriness, he loved all his grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, he loved singing to Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash and perfected the Michael Jackson "Moonwalk", but Terry had a heart of Gold and would help anyone out if he could. A Celebration of Life will be held at two different times due to conflict of family availability. The first one will be at 10 am and the second one will be held at 6 pm at the Osage City Public Library Community Room at 515 Main St, Osage City, Kansas 66523.
