Peter Jon Boyer

On Friday, September 24, 2021, Peter Jon (Pete) Boyer, loving husband for 61 years to Sharon and father of four children, passed away at the age of 81.

Pete was born on August 18, 1940 in Philadelphia, PA to Arthur and Miriam (Updegrave) Boyer. He served in the Air Force and moved to Topeka in 1958, where he met and then married Sharon Kay Woodman on November 1, 1959. Pete is survived by three sons, Dean (Karla), David (Michelle) and Jeff (Carolyn) Boyer, and one daughter, Lori (Chris) Sunneberg.  He was blessed with 12 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren who he loved dearly.

Pete loved the Lord and served his church in numerous roles.  Despite his decades long battles with heart and health issues, he always had a smile and never complained.  He had a lifelong passion for everything railroad related and loved Country music.  He worked for 35 years at Goodyear and retired in 1995 after which he was employed by the Seaman School District.  He had a passion for mentoring young people thru Scouting, Coaching and Church related organizations.  He was known for his ornery humor, his infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit.

In keeping with Pete's humble spirit, there will be no memorial or funeral services.  His wish was that nobody mourn his loss, but instead that he be remembered fondly.   Condolences or Donations may be sent to Rolling Hills Christian Church, 4530 NW Hiawatha Pl, Topeka, KS  66618.
